AURACAST in the revised standard “SIA 500” for hearing systems and room acoustics
Hearing systems and room acoustics are becoming increasingly important in Switzerland. The revision is being carried out to meet current technological developments and societal needs. This is being done in a timely manner to take AURACAST into account as an additional aspect.
After years of slow progress, DECT NR+ is finally gaining real momentum.

Many IoT projects have shown that 2.4 GHz is often insufficient within buildings – even with mesh networks, additional routers are needed in each room, and bridging solutions are required across multiple floors. Sub-GHz technologies like Wi-Fi HaLow and Wi-SUN provide reliable coverage with less infrastructure and even offer mesh capabilities.
