multistreamer pro - the compact hearing aid accessory
The Audifon Multistreamer Pro is a Bluetooth accessory for hearing aids that streams audio from a TV, smartphone, or microphone directly to the hearing system. It also functions as a hands-free device and table microphone for improved speech intelligibility.
Arendi AG handled the complete development of the electronics and firmware, as well as the production of the circuit board, for Audifon. The dual-wireless solution is based on the RSL10 chip from ON Semiconductor and a Bluetooth Classic module from Sierra Wireless.
Initial situation, goals & challenges
Audifon sought a specialized partner for the development and industrialization of a Bluetooth streaming accessory for EZARIO®-based hearing aids. The goal was a user-friendly, energy-efficient solution with broad compatibility with modern audio sources. The technical challenge lay in the compact, interference-free integration of a dual-wireless solution – while maintaining a small form factor and meeting high demands for energy efficiency and audio quality.
Project results & customer benefits
With the Multistreamer Pro, Audifon successfully launched a versatile Bluetooth streaming accessory that meets the highest demands for audio quality, energy efficiency, and compatibility. By completely outsourcing electronics development and production to Arendi, Audifon benefited from streamlined project management, a shorter time-to-market, and a reliable partner for the supply of tested circuit boards.
Implemented solution
The complete hardware design was implemented using Altium Designer, including 3D antenna simulation to optimize radio performance. The firmware is based on Arendi's proprietary COS real-time operating system, which was specifically developed for energy-efficient embedded applications.
