IoT actuator for Matter - Hardware Support
The Griesser IoT actuator for blind solutions enables intelligent control of sun protection systems via the manufacturer-independent Matter standard and seamlessly integrates Bluetooth and Thread.
Arendi supported the customer in the development of a Matter-enabled IoT actuator through technical consulting, training, RF design and antenna optimization, as well as the implementation of the radio switching groups based on the Silabs EFR32MG24 SoC.

Initial situation, goals & challenges
Griesser, a leading manufacturer of sun protection solutions, was seeking a development partner to build a Matter-based IoT platform to expand its existing product portfolio. The partner was expected to contribute their expertise to the development of Griesser's newly established electronics division. The Griesser sun protection solutions portfolio will eventually include an IoT actuator that supports the new Matter standard. This IoT actuator will control blinds and awnings, must be compatible with the existing product range, and must be installable by a qualified installer without requiring specialized knowledge.
Project results & customer benefits
Arendi AG assisted in implementing the solution, providing technical advice and training for Griesser employees using Altium Designer, as well as layout work and expertise in measuring and optimizing the antenna. Thanks to Arendi's expertise with RF circuits, the criteria for the electronics and housing could be defined during the planning phase and verified using prototypes.
